The Employers' Federation of Ceylon in collaboration with the Progamme for Employers Activities of the International Training Center of the ILO will conduct a two day workshop on “Gender Equality – Why It Makes Good Business Sense and an Introduction to Participatory Gender Audits” on 17th & 18th February 2009 in Sri Lanka.
The main objective of this Workshop is to provide participants with an understanding of how stereotypes and social gender roles affect the way a business is run, and how organizations stand to benefit from breaking down gender bases biases and barriers at work.
Participants will analyze their respective working environments to identify barriers and constraints to gender equality, and will review the ILO Participatory Gender Audit methodology as a tool to conduct an in-depth analysis of their own business environment. The Workshop also draws from the manual “Break Gender Stereotypes, Give Talent a Chance”. The Workshop will be facilitated by Ms. Johanne Lortie from the Gender Unit of the International Training Centre of the ILO.
